Racking column guards is a trading style of Racking Protection and Management Limited www.rackingpm.co.uk Racking Protection and Management was formed in 2004 from a need to manufacture and develop universal racking column guards and rack barrier protection systems for warehouses. Currently www.columnguards.co.uk distributes several different types of steel upright column guards. each of which can be used with the RackDefender synthetic rubber upright protector. All the column guards can be supplied ex works or installed. Column guards are available for Dexion (P90 and Speedlock), Redirack (SD17 and HD25), Link51, Apex, Planned Storage Systems (PSS) HiLo, Esmena, Link68 Stakapal SSI and Armes racking. Other, less flexible, one-size-fits-all protection products can result in hidden racking damage whereas the RackDefender will not remain on the racking upright if impacted severely.

The racking column guards fall into 3 categories, the first being the economy column guard. This is 5 mm thick steel that fixes to the floor in 4 positions. It is a stand-alone product or it an be used in conjunction with the RackDefender to create a very heavy duty column guard for arduous environments. The second product is the high column guard. This can also be used in conjunction with the RackDefender. The third product is the wrap-around column guard which is for use exclusively with the RackDefender. To prevent damage to racking, even cheap or misshapen column guards are better than none to protect-it. Protect your racking before an incident happens.
